Leonard Road Bridge Closure

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has ordered the Town of Stafford to discontinue use of the Leonard Road Bridge. This bridge is located on Leonard Road between TTM and the Mill Pond Store. The bridge will remain passable for pedestrian travel only and will exclude vehicle traffic until repairs are complete. Closure of this bridge is expected during the week of April 20, 2018 (pending DOT detour signage approval). Detours will be well marked. The heavy truck detour will utilize Rt. 19 northbound to Hydeville Road, then south on Upper Road past the Transfer Station to Leonard Road. Cars may use Rt. 319 (Orcuttville Road) west to Murphy Road, then Old Monson Road to Leonard Rd at TTM. The extent of needed repairs as well as the length of closure is uncertain at this time. For additional information please contact Richard Zulick at the Department of Public Works at (860) 684-3448.
