The Stafford Coalition Against Drug Abuse – SCADA - is an active alliance working to reduce and prevent substance use and abuse in the Town of Stafford and neighboring communities.

RFPQ Small Cities Application Preparation and Program Administration

The Town of Stafford’s Office of the First Selectman seeks qualifications and proposals from firms or individuals to manage a FY 2018 CT Small Cities grant. The activity funded by this grant is the continuation of the Town’s housing rehabilitation program. Interested parties may obtain the Request for Qualifications and Proposals from the Town’s website at www.staffordct.org, by telephone to the Selectmen’s Office at (860) 684-1777, or via email at staffordtownhall@staffordct.org. Submissions must be received at the First Selectman’s Office no later than 4:00 PM on Thursday November 7, 2019. The Town encourages submissions from Section 3, certified small and D/M/WBE firms. VISION GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS TO CONDUCT STAFFORD REVALUATION

The Appraisal Firm of Vision Government Solutions, Inc. has been hired by Stafford to perform the 2020 town-wide Revaluation Project as mandated by the State of Connecticut. Over the next year, representatives from Vision will be verifying information currently on file with the Assessor’s office as well as visiting properties that recently sold, with open building permits, or known physical changes. Data mailers will be sent to verify property information. All Vision Representatives will be wearing an identification badge and their vehicles will be registered with the police department. Homeowners are encouraged to ask for this identification prior to admitting anyone into their homes. If a homeowner has a question as to the identity of a Vision representative, they may call the police or the Assessor’s Office for further confirmation. TOWN OF STAFFORD DECLARATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY

In accordance with Connecticut General Statute 12-40, all persons who are liable to pay taxes on tangible personal property belonging to them on October 1, 2018, are hereby notified that they must file lists of same on or before November 1, 2019, or be subject to the statutory 25% penalty. Declaration forms are available in the Assessor’s Office or online at www.staffordct.org NOTE: A declaration for real property or Connecticut registered motor vehicles is not necessary. Taxable personal property includes but is not limited to, office equipment, machinery, farming tools, mechanics tools, horses, unregistered motor vehicles and campers. Registered camp trailers are taxable in the town where they are housed. All furniture, fixtures, machinery and equipment used in any business must be declared.

Public Notice West Stafford Fire Department 144 West Stafford Road Stafford Springs, CT 06076-1012 The West Stafford Fire Department is welcoming invitations to bid on snow removal for the winter season 2019-2020 at the firehouse on 144 West Stafford Road, Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Bid packages may be obtained by calling Assistant Chief William Morrison at (860) 982-8057. The West Stafford Fire Department reserves the right to reject any offer that is deemed not in the best interest of the organization. Bids must be received no later than October 30, 2019 to be considered.

BONDING PROJECT DETAILS

The BOS, BOF, and WPCA have proposed a 6.50-million-dollar bond package for town infrastructure. In this package there is a variety of projects including road repairs, bridge replacement, sidewalks, sewer line replacement and pump station rebuild.
