SCADA Initiative
The Stafford Coalition Against Drug Abuse – SCADA - is an active alliance working to reduce and prevent substance use and abuse in the Town of Stafford and neighboring communities.

Stafford Community-wide Cleanup

A collaborative community project of the 300th Anniversary Committee and the Stafford Garden Club on Saturday, April 24 from 7am-2pm. Beautify a road or green space and help make Stafford a cleaner place to live and play! Families, friends, teams, organizations, and businesses are invited to clean up a neighborhood, roadside, park or trail that is meaningful to you. FREE collection bags and supplies will be available at Town Hall from 7AM to 9AM. These special collection bags have been designated specifically for the April 27 cleanup event, which allows for free same-day disposal. [More Information]

Stafford Memories Writing Project

Stafford Memories Writing Project The Stafford 300th Anniversary Committee and Stafford Public Library are now seeking submissions for “Stafford Memories,” a collaborative community writing project. The group hopes to collect memories and anecdotes about Stafford, with stories inspired by ordinary life, funny incidents, specific town events or warm reminisces of your childhood, among others. Vivaldi Gloria Community Choir

A free community-wide concert featuring music throughout the last 300 years. May 19, 2019 at 2:00PM at the First United Methodist Church (8 Church Street in Stafford, CT). This Tricentennial collaborative concert - with Stafford High School Singers, community members, and Chamber Orchestra - is a celebration of music over the last 300 years. Starting with Vivaldi Gloria - which was written in 1715 while Stafford was being settled - the performance chronologically progresses through time, with selections from each half decade through 2019. The event is a proud anniversary tribute from the Stafford High School Music Department. [More Information]

Public Hearing on Town Properties to be sold

The public hearing will be to give all residents of Stafford and other interested parties the opportunity to comment on the proposed sale of each of these properties. John E. Julian Memorial Little League Golf Challenge

This year’s event will be held Friday, May 10th at Cedar Knob Golf Course in Somers, CT Registration begins at 9am, with tee-off at 10:30 am! The cost for this event is only $110. This price includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch at the turn and post round buffet " not to mention plenty of camaraderie and a chance to have your team’s name etched onto the coveted John E. Julian memorial trophy. All tournament and raffle proceeds go directly to Stafford Little League Baseball and Softball! The BOS, BOF, and WPCA have proposed a 6.50-million-dollar bond package for town infrastructure. In this package there is a variety of projects including road repairs, bridge replacement, sidewalks, sewer line replacement and pump station rebuild. This proposal has raised some concerns and prompted comments on social media. [More Information]
