Overdue Items and Fines
Stafford Library has gone fine-free on most of our items. All materials in our children and teen departments are now fine-free. Late fines will only be charged on high-demand items in our adult department, which include: new books (10¢ per day), new DVDs ($1.00 per day), hotspots ($3.00 per day), and museum/local attraction passes ($3.00 per day). In addition, fines may still accrue on items borrowed from other libraries.

You are still responsible for the items you borrow, and pay to replace lost or damaged items.

If borrowers owe $5.00 or more in overdue charges or lost/damaged items, the library may suspend library privileges.
Homebound Service
Free Homebound service is available upon request. Please call (860) 684-2852 for details.
Library Cards
A Stafford Library card is available to all Stafford residents at no charge. Children may obtain a card at any age with a parent's or guardian’s permission. If a card is lost, there is a $1.00 fee to replace it.
Reserves

A reserve may be placed on most items, except museum passes and hotspots. There are 3 ways to reserve an item:

  • Call (860) 684-2852
  • Search the online catalog. When you find the item, select "Place Hold"
  • Visit the library in person and use one of the Online Catalog Computers
If you are unable to locate the item in our catalog, you can change your search library to "Bibliomation" to see if other libraries have the item to loan. Items can be requested from other libraries and you will be notified when your items arrive and are ready for you to pick up at Stafford Library.

As always, if you need assistance just ask a Stafford Library staff member for help!
