Procedures for using the Transfer Station
The Transfer Station is open to Stafford residents and Stafford businesses only.
Users of the Transfer Station are required to follow the directions of the Transfer Station personnel.
Refusal to follow direction of the Transfer Station personnel will result in your load being rejected.
Proof of residency may be required.
All trash in official Town of Stafford purple bags must be brought to the front windows of the Transfer Station.
Please bag all loose trash to avoid the wind blowing refuse and littering the facility.
All materials not in official Town of Stafford bags will have to go over the scale.
All pay items proceed to scale house attendant.
Materials should be separated as much as possible, for example trash separate from cardboard and recycling
Speed limit 5 MPH at ALL times.
Avoid backing vehicles up at ALL times.
Video surveillance is in use.
Payments accepted in cash, check, or debit/credit card (2.95% or $2.00 convenience fee applies-whichever is greater)

All vehicles with the following materials required to go over the scale:
Bagged household trash (non - purple)
Construction material
Bulky Waste
Furniture
All material hand dumped in building must be lifted OVER security gate.
No one allowed past security gated area.
Do not remove wheel blocks.
Do not clean out vehicles on tipping floor.
The Transfer Station serves an estimated 11,000 residents, including several commercial and industrial establishments located within the Town of Stafford. The solid waste received at the Transfer Station included general household refuse, used tires (off wheels), bulky waste, and various types of recycled material.
